Leadership Is a Journey — And Every Journey Has a Story
I’m Laurent Pierre Jr., a global technology executive, author, and leadership strategist with more than 30 years of experience leading high‑performance teams across IBM, Microsoft, NielsenIQ, and Precisely. My career has taken me across industries, continents, and transformational moments — but the constant thread has always been people.
I believe leadership is not defined by titles, org charts, or corner offices. Leadership is shaped in the everyday moments: the decisions we make, the cultures we build, the people we empower, and the stories that stay with us long after the meeting ends.
My work — whether in the boardroom, on a stage, or on the page — is rooted in one simple truth: leadership is human.
A Career Built on People, Purpose, and Progress
Across three decades, I’ve led global support organizations, driven AI‑powered transformation, strengthened customer experience operations, and built cultures where people feel seen, valued, and inspired to perform at their best.
I’ve learned that the most important leadership lessons don’t come from success alone. They come from:
- Navigating change and uncertainty
- Building trust across diverse teams
- Leading through crisis and transformation
- Listening deeply and communicating with clarity
- Balancing innovation with humanity
- And rising after setbacks with resilience and purpose
These lessons — earned through real experience — shape the heart of my writing and speaking today.
A Storytelling Legacy
My leadership philosophy is deeply influenced by my Haitian heritage and the storytelling tradition passed down from my grandfather, a respected community leader in Les Cayes. He taught me that stories are more than entertainment — they are tools for teaching, healing, and leading.
That legacy lives in my work.
Every story I share is meant to illuminate a truth, spark reflection, and help leaders grow.
Author of The Unfinished Work
“The Unfinished Work” is a guide for the modern tech leader who understands that algorithms can optimize efficiency, but only people can drive innovation.
Inside, we explore:
- The ROI of Rest: Why downtime is a strategic imperative, not a weakness.
- Psychological Safety: How to build the “invisible architecture” that allows teams to fail fast and succeed sooner.
- The Human-AI Synergy: Navigating the future where technology amplifies human potential rather than replacing it.
- Leading with Gratitude: The practical magic of making your team feel seen.
This book is not a memoir of past glories. It is a playbook for the challenges you are facing right now. It is for the executive trying to scale a culture, the manager navigating burnout, and the individual contributor leading without a title.
Leadership is a profound privilege and a deep responsibility. I hope this book serves as a compass for your journey.
